The california bearing ratio test (CBR test) is defined as the ratio of the test load to the standard load, expressed as percentage for a given penetration of the plunger.
In this method the combination of load penetration test performed in the laboratory or in-situ along with empirical design charts are analysed to determine the thickness of pavement and its constituent layers.
Tfie mould containing the specimen,
with the base plate in position but the top face exposed, shall be placed
on the lower plate of the testing machine. Surcharge weights, sufficient
to produce an intensity of loading equal to the weight of the base
material and pavement shall be placed on the specimen. If the specimen
has been soaked previously, the surcharge shall be equal to that used
during the soaking period. To prevent upheaval of soil into the hole of
the surcharge weights, 2’5 kg annular weight shall be placed on the soil
surface prior to seating the penetration plunger after which the remainder
of the surcharge weights shall be placed. The plunger shall be
seated under a load of 4 kg so that full eontact is established between
the surface of the specimen and the plunger. The load and deformation
gauges shall then be set to zero ( In other words, the initial load applied
to the plunger shall be considered as zero when determining the load
penetration relation )..

    1- sir contactor ne rmc plant walo se milkar cube hi change kar diya h to ab structure ka core cutter test karwana h. To sir jab structure ka cube test huwa hi nahi h to cube strength ka 85% kaise compare karenge. 2- Aur sir core ka 75% strength kis vailue se compare karna h. Compressive strength se compare karna h ya eqvilant compressive strength se compare karna h. 3- Aur sir 1.25 ka factor bhi use karna hoga. Pls help sir....?????
